What to do if your phone falls into water?
Uroš Vogrinec

(Most people do the opposite...)
First of all, a warm greeting.
Considering that you are on this page, you are probably wondering the following question...
"What should a person do if their phone gets into water?"
Otherwise, I can't know for sure whether this has ever happened to you, or if you are only interested in it for preventive reasons.
What I do know for sure is that most people immediately think of the worst-case scenarios when their phone falls into water...
All contacts will be deleted.
All pictures from their travels will be lost.
All messages will be lost.
I admit...
All of these scenarios are possible, but not necessary...
Before I tell you what exactly happens to your phone (and how you can easily solve the situation), let me quickly introduce myself...
My name is Uroš and I am the co-owner of the Kron technical service, where we have repaired more than 75,586 devices in the 30 years of operation.
And no - I'm not telling you this to brag, I just want to tell you something else...
Since I've dealt with thousands of broken phones in my career, I can tell you from home & from practice what you can do to avoid fatal mistakes and save your phone :)
To start with, I think it's crucial to clarify...
What happens to the phone anyway?
when it falls into the water...
Simplified...
First, water penetrates the charging port, microphone and speaker.
Once inside, it can flow into the circuit, where it acts as a conductor that carries current.
Sooner or later, the voltage is overloaded and the circuit is fried.
Therefore...
The worst thing you can do is leave it dry and hope that the phone dries out on its own.
In this case, the water "sits" on the phone and damages the circuit due to the mineral content.
In this case, the phone has little chance of taking off "the whole skin".
And another interesting thing...
The damage is not always visible immediately!
Usually, the consequences are visible only after a day or two, because only then does the water penetrate its key components.
In short...
What under no circumstances
You MUST NOT do...
Never…
1.Dry your phone in the microwave (because you can start a fire this way).
2.Put it in the freezer (because the water won't freeze and miraculously save your phone).
3. Dry it with a hair dryer or place it on a radiator (this way the heat will destroy the already damaged circuits even more easily).
Put it in a bag of rice (Research has shown that rice doesn't absorb moisture quickly enough and as a result, it can't prevent the destruction of the circuit in time).
So…
Now that we've cleared that up, let's get to what you're probably most interested in...
First of all - when your phone falls into the water, immediately pick it up from there - if that's possible, of course.
Then...Remove the battery, SIM card and headphones. If you can't remove the battery from your phone, just stand it upright. This will help the water drain faster.
What service is it anyway? choose wisely?
In case you follow all the steps above and your phone still doesn't work...
Well, then it's wise to visit an experienced phone repair service.
*Otherwise, you can search the entire internet, but your phone still won't fix itself.
But it's true...
Since not all services are the same, it makes sense to ask...
I admit...
Here I would like to tell you to simply choose our service - Kron.
But because I want to remain as *UNIMPORTANT* as possible when answering this question, I have written below 3 important criteria for choosing a provider to service your phone...
1.Tradition (the longer the provider has been on the market, the more experience they have, and the greater the chance that they will provide quality service)
2.Flexibility (Is the provider also willing to take your phone as a priority if you actually need it the same day?)
3.Satisfied customers (Are there any satisfied customers who have already been helped by this provider?
Does that make sense?
Absolutely.
And no, this does not mean that you have to choose us.
But I can just tell you that our Kron service meets all the criteria listed above...

Because probably this article
reading on your phone...
... I assume your phone is not currently in the water :)
But that doesn't mean your phone can't have a cracked screen, a bad battery, broken speakers, or any other problem that's causing your hair to turn gray.
And yes - if that's true and there is actually a problem you want to solve, then you've come to the right place, because at Krono we can repair your phone in most cases within 24 hours.
All you have to do is click the button below and read more about our services...
But if everything is fine with your phone (knock on wood), it won't hurt to take a look at the page anyway.
Namely, you'll find out where to turn when the first problems with your phone appear.
If you're not interested in that at all, there's nothing wrong with that. Still, I believe that this article was useful to you and that the tips will come in handy at some point.
See you next time, Uroš Vogrinec, owner of Kron IT
